Using the Cutting layouts report

Cutting layouts is the main report for preparing cutting instructions. It can include layout pictures, lists of stocks and parts, and other plan information. Its built-in settings let you produce different kinds of output from the same report.

Report settings

When you preview, print, or export the Cutting layouts report, the Report settings window opens. Here you can choose which sections to include, control paging, and adjust layout pictures. For example, you can include or exclude layout pictures, stock and part lists, or the list of parts beneath each layout.

These settings change the report output without requiring the report editor.

Once you have configured the report, you can set its Flag to F to skip the Report settings window on subsequent uses. To show the settings again, simply clear the Flag.

To keep a particular configuration for regular use, make a copy of the Cutting layouts report and give it a descriptive name. For example, to create a simple plan list with a summary, enable only Plan > Header and Summary in Report settings and disable the other sections. You can similarly create copies for stock lists, part lists, or layout pictures only.

Completeness flag

An asterisk (*) beside a part's Description, Order #, or size in the layout part list marks the last occurrence of that value within the cutting layouts of the plan.

Once the parts up to that point have been cut, the completed group can be sent to the next production stage without waiting for the remaining layouts.
