Working with data

Sorting data

Sorting changes the order in which records appear in a grid.

Click a column header to sort by that column:

1. The first click sorts in ascending order.

2. The second click sorts in descending order.

3. The third click clears sorting for that column.

To sort by multiple columns, hold Ctrl while clicking additional column headers. In the example below, parts are sorted first by Order # in ascending order (one click), then by Length in descending order (two clicks).

Filtering data

Filtering displays only records that match specified conditions, without deleting other records. Each list (Plans, Plan stocks, Plan parts, inventory lists, etc.) has its own filter, and the program remembers its settings.

To filter the current list, click a filter icon in the main toolbar or press Ctrl+F. In the Filter form, select a column, an operation, and a value for each condition. Use buttons (+), (-), and (×) to add, remove, or clear conditions.

For multiple conditions, choose All of the conditions to match every condition, or Any of the conditions to match at least one.

Changes are applied immediately and activate the filter. An active filter is indicated in red on the toolbar. Uncheck Active to deactivate the filter, or check it again to reactivate it.

You can filter by columns that are hidden in the grid. Select Any field value to search across all available fields.

Filtering can be combined with multiple selection. First filter the list, then select the records you want to work with.

Selecting multiple records

Multiple selection lets you work with several records at once. Depending on the current list and command, selected records can be copied, deleted, printed, exported, or processed together. For plans, supported operations also include optimization and opening or closing plans.

If you want to select all rows, just press Ctrl+A.

Methods to select multiple rows

▪Hold Ctrl and click a row to add it to the selection.

▪Hold Shift and click another row to select all rows between the current and clicked rows, replacing the previous selection.

▪Hold Shift and press Up/Down to extend the selection one row at a time.

▪Hold Shift and press PageUp/PageDown to select all rows above or below the current row.

When multiple rows are selected, editing a field and clicking Post on the navigator applies the new value to the same field in all selected rows.

Methods to select multiple columns

You can also select entire columns to copy their data from CutLogic 2D.

▪Hold Shift and press Left/Right to extend the selection one column at a time.

▪Hold Ctrl and click a column to add it to existing selection.

Using selection with a filter

A filter limits the records displayed; selection identifies the records or values you want to use within that list. You can apply both at the same time.

For example, filter plans by an order identifier, select the required plans, and open Reports to print their cutting instructions.

Rearranging columns

You can show, hide, and reorder grid columns to keep frequently used information in view. Hiding a column does not remove its data.

Click the rearrange-columns button in the grid or choose View > Rearrange columns. Select the columns you want to display and clear the ones you want to hide.

Use the buttons in the form to reorder columns or restore the default arrangement.

You can also reorder columns directly in the grid by dragging a column header left or right.
